Brooklyn, NY, USA. He died on 24 Aug 1846 in New Bern, Craven County, NC, USA.
He resided 1830 to 1846 in New Bern, Craven County, NC, USA. He was married
to Deborah Morris on 3 Mar 1813 in New York, NY, USA. 33.
Deborah Morris was born on 11 May 1790 in New
York, NY, USA. She died on 2 Aug 1882 in Brooklyn, NY, USA. Keidel's History
of the Morris Family is cited as saying Deborah Morris was the daughter
of Anthony James Morris, a colonel in the Revolutionary Army and later governor
of Pennsylvania.

He served in the military in 1858 in Ft. Defiance, NM, USA. Said to have been
in charge of the Army's camels, brought to New Mexico prior to the Civil War
for use as transport animals.
Court-martialled 8 May 1861 while serving as Asst. Quartermaster, for
abuse of public funds. He died on 21 Mar 1907 in Brooklyn, NY, USA.

He was Member of the Committee of Vigilance on 10 Jun 1851 in San Francisco,
CA, USA. Listed as present at the hearing that condemned John Jenkins, 10 Jun
1851. He resided 126 Sansome St. in 1852 in San Francisco, CA, USA. Per web
listing of 1852 San Francisco City Directory - listed as "French com. mer."
He was Secretary of the Board of Delegates of the Fire Department in 1853 in
San Francisco, CA, USA. Signed manuscript certificate given to a member of the
department, dated 4 Nov 1853 He died on 29 Jun 1873 in Virginia City, NV, USA.
Died in an accidental explosion. Other sources tell the story of "Van
Bokkelen's German Beer Garden" in Virginia City, NV, where the owner's monkey
found a bottle of nitroglycerine and blew the building up sometime prior to 1876.
The location became St. Mary's Hospital, presently (2005) a center for the arts.
I expect there is a connection.

of San Francisco 1860 - 1861 says 'death of George A. Van Bokkelen, a pioneer
merchant".
