Rev. Glen was born in New York in 1821. Came west when 19 years old; licensed to preach in 1855, and took charge of Springfield congregation in 1856. He was a student of the lamented Dr. McDill. He removed to Salem, Wisconsin in 1867 and remained about 3 years. He took charge of the Marissa congregation in May 1872.
Under his charge the membership of this congregation had increased from 55 to 128.
He preached his last sermon Dec. 8th, 1878 from this text .... Luke 16:2
His remains were interred in Marissa Cemetery on Thursday, June 19th. The deceased was for ??? years a resident of Sparta and none knew him but to respect and love him.
His most ?? acquaintances were his warmest friends. His bereaved widow and family have the heartfelt sympathy of all who enjoyed the friendship of the lamented dead."
